A Little Bit About Me, Craig Jansson
My approach to every project is to create memorable sounds listeners can positively associate with TV Shows, Games, Films, or projects I dedicate myself. The goal is to construct a journey that feels natural to whoever interacts with the sound.
Since 1990, I’ve been working on my craft by working as a manager and producer at Austereo Radio Network, co-founding Magic Sound Company, and being Heading Sound at Imagination Studios.
In addition to the industry’s business side, I’ve contributed to many sessions for live bands in production, engineering, and recording, worked with sound design for media campaigns, trailers, film, and TV, and worked on sound for popular interactive games.
Some of the clients I’ve worked with include Sony, Disney, Spotify, ATN, Marvel, Nickelodeon, 20th Century Fox, Hewlett Packard, Village Roadshow Pictures, Universal, Emirates, Paramount, and many more.
As a sound engineer and producer, my live band repertoire includes talented musicians like Bon Jovi, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Hanson, Men At Work, Nickleback, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, U2, Metallica, Richie, Sheryl Crow, and tons more.
Throughout my career, I’ve been a Sound Designer, Score Composer, Editor, and Mixer for large media campaigns and trailers for movies like The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, The Matrix, Rush Hour 2, KIA Automotive Australia, Honda Australia Media Campaign and many more!
Additionally, I have earned credit for music for between 100 and 150 feature films, documentaries, short films, and TV series in total.
Eventually, my career moved me towards interactive games like Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmations, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Dreamworks’ Shrek, NBC’s The Office, Nickelodeon Games Spongebob Squarepants, E! News Channels Interactive DVD Games, and so much more.
I’ve been working with Shane Yeend and Imagination Entertainment for nearly two and a half decades, where he and I own and run Imagination Studios. Since 1998, I’ve created every sound piece for the Imagination Group. My work with Imagination has opened the doors for me to develop an ultra-competitive approach to sound design. I now use Immersive 3D Sound Tech, which uses Binaural mixing that surrounds the listener. This advance in sound capabilities and technology truly brings viewing and gaming experiences into a new era.
I’ve earned many fitting awards over the years. Many of which I know will fit my experience with Gamestar+ and offer players an immersive gaming experience. I won the award for Best Sound Design in 2004 at the AADC Advertising Awards for the Sponge Bob Square Pants Interactive DVD Game. 2004 was also the year I won the Best Sound Mixing award for DVD Games in the MGM Screentest Interactive. I’ve also done the sound design on the 2k Mafia 3 AAA game and every Imagination game.
Several years and recognitions later, I won the 2016 Webbies for Best Sound Design for The Wizard Of Oz television series. I’m proud to say I’ve earned 18 awards total between 1999 and 2017 for my sound design work with teams from all over the entertainment industry.
Over my years working for major brands, bands, and industries, Gamestar+ has to be one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever been a part of. Since writing the first demos in 2013 and working with Shane for the past four years on Gamestar+, the market opportunity here is astounding, especially with all the titles we’re bringing players.
Noting that subscription streaming services aren’t going anywhere either, it only makes sense that Gamestar+ behaves like a blockchain version of Steam and brings popular board games to family homes where players can own a piece of the game they play.
The team’s commitment to innovation to make Gamestar+ immersive through blockchain and auditory experiences is one of a kind.. The combination of blockchain tech and streaming board games with Social Games On Demand is something I’m happy to back and contribute to.
All in all, I’m incredibly excited to be working with Shane again. Gamestar+ fits in such an incredible part of the gaming and tech space; I’m super excited to share my expertise with the team and players at home.
With Gamestar+’s capabilities to enhance and bring immersive gaming to homes worldwide with smart home devices, I can’t wait to create an unforgettable audio experience for players at home.
